Diethylamine salicylate is used to help relieve muscle and joint pain.
Apply Diethylamine salicylate exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more often or over a larger area than instructed by your doctor.
To use the cream, follow these steps:
- Wash your hands.
- Clean and dry affected area before application.
- Rub the cream gently on the skin until it disappears. Do not cover, wrap or bandage the area unless instructed by the doctor.
- Wash your hands after using.
- Replace the cap of the tube.
Avoid contact of this medicine with your eyes. Rinse immediately with water if the cream gets into your eyes. Alert your doctor if you start to have any problems with your eyesight.
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
Do not use this medicine if you ever had an allergic reaction (e.g. rashes, breathlessness, swollen eyes) to Diethylamine salicylate or similar painkillers such as aspirin, diclofenac and ibuprofen.
Do not apply this medicine on broken skin, or skin with cuts or abrasions.
Inform your doctor if you have asthma.
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving Diethylamine salicylate to a child.
Avoid contact of this medicine to sensitive areas of the skin.
Inform your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen.
To avoid burns, do not smoke or go near naked flames. Fabrics (e.g. dressing, clothing, bedding) that has been in contact with Diethylamine salicylate must be washed to reduce product build-up or risk of any serious fire hazards.
Diethylamine salicylate may cause any of the following side effects: temporary discomfort, irritation, redness, and burning sensation of the skin.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines:
- warfarin (blood-thinning medicine)
- methotrexate (medicine for cancer)
Let your doctor know if you are using any other creams, ointments or other medicines on the affected area.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
